So for a little over two weeks now Jayan gets his milk and juice from this and he has truly mastered it! All baby bottles have been thrown away. Hooray!!!!

Bye Bye Bottle!
As of the weekend of March 13th Jay is officially off a bottle. Finding the right sippy cup was such a challenge. I have tried everything. He would get frustrated and just throw them down. Finally he was offered an apple juice box and took a small amount of juice through a straw. Over time he got better and better and then finally I found these:

That's very similar to what we used to wean Dane off of his Avent bottles (I can't recall the brand, but they had a straw with a valve piece to keep them from leaking if he left it lying on the floor). He really liked that they were colorful.
We started with Dr. Brown's bottles and switched to Avent after about a year I think. I honestly thought he'd be three by the time he gave the bottle up! Thanks for checking on us *love* Love to all the Dykstra's!
Ha, Dane also didn't want to give up his bottles...THEN we had a tough time getting him to switch to regular cups from the straw bottles. He is SUCH a horrible creature of habit and resists change.
