For some reason Jay's picc line came out last night. This is frustrating because it swelled up his little arm and now they have to try and place the picc line in him again. It's basically his main IV.
So the early part of the day was a bit restless but by this evening he had settled back down. The swelling on his arm also seems to have gone down since this morning.

I'm truly trying to get on a pumping schedule every three hours. It's hard, especially at night. But I have to do it for the little guy.

Oh, those night pumps were some of my darkest hours (both literally and figuratively) that first year of Dane's life. I discovered a lot of strange stuff on cable at 3am, for certain.

Make sure you are getting plenty of rest...you'll probably end up viewing sleep as something to do in shifts over the course of a 24 hour period. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and get your oatmeal, too. I ate lots of granola bars to help maintain good supply.

Pumpmoms was a great source of support, too. I had no idea that there were other moms who had to rely exclusively on the pump to get milk for their babies. The ladies on that board are some of the nicest. I know there are still a lot over there who are well past their baby days, but still stick around to help newer moms.

I hope Jay's picc line doesn't cause him any more issues.
