Fall 2016 3rd Grade

Time is flying and Jay is now in 3rd Grade! He is still completely fascinated and obsessed with Football. He makes sure to DVR any games he needs to watch if we have other plans and can't be home. It's very cute. Brendan could sit and watch football all day. So between the two of them I have days I go a little crazy :) But they make me smile. Jay is now a Bear in Boy Scouts he was promoted from Wolf at the end of 2nd grade. And we are still in AYSO soccer. This season has been challenging for the boys. If we have learned anything it is that coaches really do make a difference when it comes to motivating these kids.

Jay's Big Trip to Kauai!

We finally got Jay off the mainland and over water for a beautiful vacation. Going to Kauai has been on my bucket list for many years and I am so happy that I finally got a chance to visit with Jay. It is truly a magical island and the highlight for me was visiting the Saiva Siddhanta Church. Jay did wonderful on the plane ride and enjoyed being on the island. He is a water baby always has been so he enjoyed spending his time in the pool and the ocean. He makes friends wherever he goes.

He has spent the summer keeping pretty busy. I can't believe in just a few weeks he is going to start 3rd grade. This was a very memorable trip for us. Memories I hope he will treasure forever.

Jay's Activities

Jay keeps pretty busy with Boy Scouts and Soccer. On the weekends we have him do a little writing. The writing we hope will help him with his reading and comprehension.

Boy Scouts was such a great decision to join it has been wonderful for Jay. And we've really enjoyed getting to know the other parents in the Den. Jay has been camping overnight twice. And definitely enjoys being outdoors with his friends.

This is Jay's 3rd season with AYSO Soccer. He has come so far and we love seeing him play his heart out. He plays both offense and defense and seems to enjoy both.

This is an example of Jay's weekend free writing. This particular day he went to my Dad's while I ran a few errands. Jay is very attached to his Pata.

Mother's Day

Packed weekend full of activities. But we managed to squeeze in a quick trip on the train for Mother's Day. We took it to San Clemente Pier and then jumped back on and stopped in San Juan Capistrano for lunch. It was a beautiful day out.

And finally no Mother's Day is complete without a trip to Pata's House. Happy Mother's Day to my Daddy.

2nd Grade!

Jay is now 8 years old and in 2nd Grade. He's in Boy Scouts and Soccer and enjoys both very much. His Dad and I are so proud of the person he is turning into. He has a compassionate heart, a love of football (Go Notre Dame and the Denver Broncos), and loves spending time with his friends. I'm an only child and it can be pretty lonely as a kid so I want to make sure he gets lots of time with his friends. Joe and I are very good co-parents and we always put Jay first. We both come from broken homes and refuse to put Jay through what we went through between our parents. Our son knows he is loved by us and the family and friends we have surrounding him.

We celebrated Jay's birthday at Chuck E Cheese with some of his classmates and a few of my dear friend's children.

Jay took his first airplane trip this last summer. We went to visit Kanaka Chinnama (KanChin) one of my oldest friends in San Francisco. He did amazing and we are definitely read to take a longer trip.
